WALL, N.J—Marathon Data Systems was a sponsor of the “Hacking Asbury” event, which took place June 22 at the CoWerks facility in Asbury Park, N.J. The Hackathon-style mini conference invited  developers, designers, artists, business owners and other interested parties to come with projects to work on and ideas to share. In addition, the event featured speakers from a variety of fields and the opportunity for attendees to meet with mentors. The mini conference, ending with a summer BBQ, was a community event that welcomed all.

Marathon also teamed up with CoWerks earlier this year for its Jersey Shore Comeback-A-thon Hackathon, which took place at the venue in April. The Hackathon brought developers together to brainstorm applications that could be created to assist in the rebuilding of the Jersey Shore in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

“As a rapidly growing software company on the Jersey Shore, we are constantly looking for talent,” says Marathon Data CEO Chris Sullens. “We have to get creative to let talented developers know that they don’t have to go to the city for opportunities to use leading-edge technologies to create great products. Partnering with organizations like CoWerks and people like Bret Morgan, who share our desire to get the word out about what great place the Jersey Shore is to build and grow a tech business, makes sense. We look forward to growing and broadening the relationship over time.”
