MADISON, WIS.—Steve Nix recently joined Bell Laboratories as technical sales representative for the north central United States, representing Bell products to distributors and pest management professionals (PMPs) in North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas and western Tennessee.
Drawing on 14 years of experience in the pest control industry, Nix works with Bell distributors and their sales representatives on the use and promotion of Bell’s rodent control products. He provides product information and training to distributor sales staff and helps them develop new markets for products, including implementing and monitoring promotional and educational programs.
In the field, Nix conducts training workshops for technicians and lends technical support on pest control strategies, including accompanying distributor reps and technicians on inspections at challenging rodent infestation sites. He also represents Bell at national trade shows and distributor sales meetings.
Before joining Bell, Nix was a sales manager for Gunter Pest Management in Kansas City, Mo., for 10 years. He established and managed its commercial services division, including supervising sales and service staff. Prior to that, he was a regional manager for Orkin Pest Control in Mission, Kan., managing commercial accounts in Kansas and Missouri. A graduate of Purdue University’s Pest Control Program, he is also a certified Pest Control Operator and a licensed applicator for termites, bed bugs and rodents.
Nix earned a bachelor’s of science degree in political science from the University of Missouri, Columbia, Mo., in 1990. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the presidential security detail and as an infantry squad leader.
