FAIRFAX, VA—The Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), which serves as the public outreach arm of the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), has announced the appointment of Andrew Klein to its Board of Directors. Klein serves as the president of Assured Environments in New York where he is responsible for day-to-day company operations, sales management, and services in residential and commercial pest prevention.
Klein has been part of Assured Environment’s core staff since 1992, when he started his tenure in the sales department, following receipt of his master’s degree in European History from Columbia and his bachelor’s of arts degree from Dartmouth College. He assumed the presidency of his company in 1994. In addition to the work he does with his company, Klein is active in the industry, chairing NPMA’s Bed Bug Committee and International Task Force and serving on the Copesan Board of Directors.
“We are delighted to have Andrew join our board,” says Missy Henriksen, executive director of PPMA. “Our initiatives to advance the industry are guided by forward thinking leaders and Andrew will be a welcome addition to this group. We look forward to working with him to further PPMA’s mission to grow our industry and educate the public about pest management issues.”
The board of directors of PPMA is comprised of representatives from member pest management and chemical manufacturing companies. Board members are appointed by the Executive Committee of PPMA, and meet two times a year to vote on policies, initiatives and budget matters on behalf of all investors of PPMA.
“It is my pleasure to accept the nomination to serve on PPMA’s board. Our company has been an ardent supporter of PPMA because the organization provides a much needed voice for the industry and serves as a tremendous resource for all professional pest management companies,” says Klein. “I look forward to being part of shaping the future of PPMA and our industry as a board member.”
