The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) is searching for the most passionate technician in the industry and PestFactor, a new video competition for the pest management industry has been launched to help find that tech.

Passionate sales and service technicians are encouraged to submit videos where they describe in 60 seconds or less why they should be considered the most passionate tech in the industry. An all-expense paid trip to PestWorld 2014 at Disney World is being offered for the most creative, fun and informational video submission.

Karl Kisner, vice president of marketing for Univar Agriculture & Environmental Sciences, a PestFactor sponsor, is excited about the competition.

“Through our 65 Univar ProCenters we routinely get a chance to interact with technicians across the country and hear firsthand accounts of what makes pest professionals passionate about their work. We want to know why you like doing what you do, what your favorite parts of the job are and how you have risen to new heights because of opportunities available to you as a pest professional.” Kisner says.

NPMA Executive Vice President Bob Rosenberg explains that attracting qualified talent to the pest management industry  is important and even though the industry is an exciting place to work, some recruiting challenges do exist.

“This competition is part of a much larger industry response to increase the pool of highly trained, highly skilled pest management professionals,” Rosenberg says.
