Optigard Flex liquid insecticide from Syngenta controls paper wasps, yellowjackets and other stinging insects. Its active ingredient, thiamethoxam, affects target pests via contact as well as ingestion. And, because the product is non-repellent, nuisance pests won’t avoid it. In experimental trials, Optigard Flex provided 100 percent control of paper wasp and yellowjacket populations within 24 hours of application. The product can be used in a wide variety of application methods, such as zone treatment, general surface spray or crack-and-crevice application. It can also be applied indoors and outdoors, including food-handling establishments when used in accordance to the product label. Its suspension concentrate formulation readily disperses in water, making it an easy-to-use choice to apply with liquid or foam applicators.
