FAIRFAX, VA—The Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), the consumer education arm of the National Pest Management Association, has found that 37 percent of homeowners with a household income of $75,000 or more have used professional pest control in the past year. That number is up from 33 percent last year and up from 18 percent in 2001, the first year PPMA collected such data, representing 15.6 million new customers to the market.
These numbers demonstrate that PPMA’s educational voice to consumers – combined with the good work being done by industry companies – is having a positive impact on the value homeowners place on the work done by pest management professionals.
