NEPTUNE, NJ—Marathon Data Systems President and CEO Chris Sullens was named a finalist in the Executive of the Year Category in the 2014 NJBIZ Business of the Year Awards program. The program celebrates New Jersey’s most dynamic businesses and business leaders who share a commitment to professional excellence, business growth and the community.
“I’m honored to be a finalist for the NJBIZ Executive of the Year Award along with so many accomplished New Jersey business professionals,” says Sullens. “Being selected as a finalist helps validate the initiatives I’ve worked to put in place and the talented team I have surrounding me at Marathon to help our company grow as a leader in our industry and within the state of New Jersey.”
Sullens joined Marathon Data Systems in 2008, and has led the company into a period of rapid growth. Under Sullens’ leadership, Marathon Data Systems has earned inclusion in the Inc. 5000, a prestigious ranking of the fastest-growing private U.S. companies, for the fourth consecutive year in 2014. Marathon Data Systems has also been honored as one of the best places to work in New Jersey for the past four years. In addition, Marathon has more than tripled its headcount since 2008, growing from 38 employees to more than 150 in 2014, and doubled the size of its offices in moving its headquarters to new state-of-the-art facilities in Neptune, N.J. Marathon expects to grow to nearly 200 full-time employees by the end of 2015.
