BURNABY, BRITISH COLUMBIA—According to an article from Entomology Today, Simon Fraser University’s Professor Regine Gries and Dr. Gerhard Gries led a team of students in finding a set of chemical attractants that can lure bed bugs into traps. The research is published in the journal Angewandte Chemie.

“They are now working with Victoria-based Contech Enterprises Inc. to develop an effective and affordable bait and trap for detecting and monitoring bed bug infestations,” Entomology Today reports. “They expect it to be commercially available next year.”
