NEW PMP Logo CLEVELAND — Pest Management Professional (PMP) will showcase its new logo and content-and-design upgrade with its January 2015 print edition. Unwilling to rest on its laurels, PMP also has hired 20-year industry veteran Heather Gooch as managing editor. Gooch’s return marks the creation of a third, full-time PMP edit position.

“I’ve always felt it’s an honor to serve this wonderful industry,” Gooch says. “Maybe that’s why I never really left it … why I’ve been working closely with PMP and the industry’s ever-innovative suppliers and distributors the past several years to share information about new pest management solutions and best practices. I’m extremely excited about this next chapter for all of us — for PMP and its co-engineers, our loyal readers and valued marketing partners.”

PMP is retaining its industry-leading technical and business columnists and unmatched pest coverage, while adding a few twists for the new year:

  • SHEPerspective: a new monthly column by technical guru Mark Sheperdigian;
  • Start-Up Diaries: the return of Pete Schopen, one of PMP’s most-popular columnists;
  • Face Off: Kurt and Eric Scherzinger debate hot business topics;
  • Technical coverage of occasional invaders, invasive species, and turf and ornamental insects; and
  • New editorial pieces such as: “Ride Along,” “Hot Products,” “Pest Hotspots,” “Callback Cures” and “Conducive Conditions: What’s wrong with this picture?”

“We pledge to continue to invest in PMP’s media platforms and people, and to build upon our 80-plus-year history as the industry’s leading technical journal,” says Marty Whitford, PMP publisher and editorial director. “We look forward to another great year of growth together, and wish you the very best in 2015.”
