On May 11, R. Randall Rollins, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rollins Inc., was honored as a distinguished guest at Emory University’s 170th Commencement ceremony. He received an honorary doctor of humane letters degree, and was recognized at the ceremony as a philanthropist and Emory benefactor.

The ceremony coincided with the celebration of “100 Years in Atlanta,” an observance that kicked off in February to honor Emory’s charter to establish an Atlanta campus in 1915. Rollins was one of three distinguished guests at the ceremony, along with former Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin and former Emory Provost and Chancellor Billy Frye. The commencement keynote address was delivered by Sir Salman Rushdie, who recently concluded his role as University Distinguished Professor in the Emory College of Arts and Sciences.
