The New Jersey Pest Management Association (NJMPA) will host the state’s largest gathering of pest management professionals at (PMPs) its 68th Annual Clinic, Trade Show & Clambake on Aug. 20 at the Cook College campus of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J.
Industry experts Drs. Bobby Corrigan and Phil Koehler will be among those giving presentations, with topics to include bed bugs, ants, mosquitoes, rodents, beetles and termites. PMPs will also learn from business-focused sessions on health and pesticide safety.
“This annual event is the cornerstone in the New Jersey pest industry, and brings in PMPs from throughout the entire state,” says Len Douglen, NJMPMA executive director “There’s everything from continuing education sessions to peer networking, to business building brainstorms that are all truly relevant to everyone in pest control. In addition, the Clambake and the ‘Running of the Roaches’ provide a great deal of fun for everyone attending.”
This year’s “Running of the Roaches” pits two Madagascar cockroaches named after Presidential candidates against each other in an effort to select the next U.S. President. The race currently enjoys an accuracy record of 84 percent. It will take place at noon, and a recording of the event will be uploaded to the NJPMA website.
Other events include:
- 50 exhibitor booths manned by both distributors and manufacturers
- Equipment and technology displays
- Continuing education unit (CEU) credits from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, valid in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware
