Wilson celebrates 50 years as a PMP

Joe WilsonThis summer, Joe Wilson, CEO of PermaTreat Pest Control, Fredericksburg, Va., is celebrating his 50th anniversary as a pest management professional (PMP). On June 5, 1965, he became a branch manager trainee for Orkin Pest Control in Virginia. He purchased PermaTreat in August 1982, when it had one office and just six employees.

Today, PermaTreat has more than 100 employees, with branch offices in Charlottesville,  Culpeper, FredericksburgHarrisonburgLeesburg, Lexington, Manassas ParkRichmond, Tappahannock and Woodbridge, Va. Founded in 1967, it has become one of the leading corporate citizens in Northern and Central Virginia, supporting the the Central Virginia Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Fredericksburg Regional Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Wilson even donated the land for the local SPCA’s Humane Care Center in 2009.
