As pest management professionals, you probably don’t get many customers raving about the insects in their lives, but at the London Design Festival, that’s exactly what’s happening.

Designer duo mischer’traxler is gaining attention for their innovative artistry, according to The Telegraph. Their exhibit, titled Curiosity Cloud, features 250 mouth-blown glass globes, each containing a different species of flying insect. The life-like creations fly around the globes constantly, but as spectators approach, the insects will fly faster, hitting the sides of their container.

Each individual insect was handcrafted in mischers’traxler’s studio. Coming from around the world, 25 insect species are represented in the display, each falling into one of three categories: extinct, common and newly discovered.

The stars of the show were made by printing foil, then laser cuts. Next the artists hand-made the bodies and recreated the distinctive sense of flight specific to each insect.

Below is a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Curiosity Cloud.
