8-bit Exterminating

It’s time to bring those exterminating skills to the gaming world.

Douglas Circumstance – Monster Extermination Company, a video game hopeful, has big plans to bring pest infestations and extermination into the quirky world of 8-bit games,  reports Siliconera.

But you won’t find your average termite or ant infestations in this game. Instead, your character, Douglas, will be sporting a laser gun and cannon to fight zombies, spider mammoths, carnivorous splorgs and fire-breathing brains—yes, fire-breathing brains.

During the course of the game, you will help Douglas by taking dangerous cases from troubled clients with monster infestations and explore a series of challenging non-linear levels.

Oh, and I shouldn’t neglect to mention the bosses. Every level contains four to five boss fights with huge, disgusting and ridiculous baddies to keep you thoroughly entertained.

Unfortunately this game isn’t on the shelves at your local Gamestop or Best Buy. Creators Jay Tholen and Jesse Bull are looking for help to get their creation up and running, and they have turned to Kickstarter for help.

According to the Kickstarter page, this 8-bit inspired platform shooter game is chalk full of ridiculous monsters.

Players will navigate a labyrinth of traps, monsters, puzzles and secrets as they progress through the levels. And while most of the game is a side-scrolling shooter, don’t be surprised when gameplay changes periodically.

Just to keep things interesting, Douglas can only take one hit before dying and twitch shooting is making a comeback so you might want to make sure your reflexes are up to snuff.

If this is something you’d like to play for yourself, head over to their Kickstarter page and help them out. For a $10 donation, you’ll receive a free PC download once the game is released.
