Pelham, Ala.-based Vulcan Termite and Pest Control recently raised $2,800 for the Susan G Komen of North Central Alabama cancer awareness organization.

“We figured that there are so many people in our lives, people that we know and families that we know that have dealt with breast cancer,” Vulcan General Manager Fred Smith told the Pelham Reporter. “We just felt it was a good opportunity to help that and to give back to the community.”

According to the Reporter, “the money donated represents a portion of all the jobs Vulcan Termite worked for the year. They plan on looking into other charities and ways to give back in the future, and Smith said they have come up with some good ideas.”
