During a routine rodent inspection in a residential attic, Justin Clendening smelled the unmistakable, dangerous odor of natural gas. The wildlife technician for Inspect-All Services, Conyers, Ga., immediately went downstairs to ask the customer to contact her gas company.
The gas company representative did not mince words: “The gentleman in your attic today saved your lives.”
“Overwhelmed and grateful, (our customer) could barely speak at times as she thanked our technician and management team,” Inspect-All says in a blog post.
Clendening is the latest in a long line of industry heroes to speak up when something just isn’t right — whether it’s a gas leak, an abused animal or other problem. Kudos to him and others like him who live by the rule of “see something, say something.”
