Bayer logoEnvironmental Science, a business unit of Bayer CropScience LP, has announced that Eric Lentz will be promoted from his current role as head of marketing for the Professional Pest Management (PPM) and Vector Control (VC) businesses to northern regional sales manager for the Turf & Ornamentals (T&O) business within Bayer. Ray Daniels, currently serving as the general insect control product manager, will be promoted to head of marketing for the PPM and VC businesses.

“Our priority is to deliver best-in-class solutions to address customer and consumer needs across the environmental science business landscape. Both of these men have delivered unparalleled leadership, and we believe that in their new positions they will continue to deliver innovative ideas and customer-centric programs,“ says Ildem Bozkurt, head of PPM and VC.

Lentz‘ career at Bayer began in 1995 when he joined as a PPM field sales representative. He later joined Bayer headquarters as the VC business manager. In his most recent role, Lentz was the head of marketing for the PPM and VC businesses. Lentz has 13 years of pest management industry experience and holds a bachelor’s of science degree in entomology from the University of Delaware.

“Eric has demonstrated tremendous leadership on our team and has brought incredible value to our customers over the last five years in his role as head of marketing. We thank him for his lasting contributions and are excited to see his leadership expand in the Turf & Ornamentals business,“ says Mark Schneid, chief marketing officer of the Environmental Science business.

Daniels will succeed Lentz as the new head of marketing for the PPM and VC businesses. Daniels joined the marketing team in 2012 as a bait and termite product manager. Last year, he was promoted to the general insect control product manager. In his new role, Daniels will oversee all activities related to marketing for the PPM and VC businesses. Prior to joining the marketing team, Daniels served as an area sales manager for Bayer from 2008 to 2012 in the pest management division. He holds a bachelor of science degree in agriculture business from the University of Georgia and a master’s of business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.

“Ray brings vast experience to the markets we serve,“ says Schneid. “He has been incredibly successful in his role as portfolio manager, and we are grateful for the leadership he is bringing to our team.“

Daniels’ successor to his role as general insect control product manager will be announced at a later date.
