Truly Nolen & Florida blogger team up to spread smiles in wake of Orlando shootings

Something TRULY special happened on July 20: Central Florida blogger and multimedia producer Jen Vargas, whom we have worked with in the past, is a big fan of our Truly Nolen MouseLimo. We actually ran into her at the Mascot Games on June 17 (five days after the awful Pulse shootings), and at that time, our limo driver Jack Martin pulled out his booking calendar and told Jen he was going to hold the afternoon of July 20 for her to do whatever she wanted to do with the mouse limo.

From that, Jen created Jen’s JOYride and used the hashtag #TRULYLoved to showcase her ride around Orlando, spreading smiles to organizations who have worked hard over the past month in the wake of what happened.

We picked her up at 1 p.m. on the 20th, shortly after she had picked up five dozen cupcakes from Sprinkles Cupcakes at Disney Springs. Sprinkles was kind enough to donate their delicious cupcakes to Jen’s JOYride.

Among the places we drove Jen that afternoon were the Orange County Administration Building (where Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs had both a cupcake party in the MouseLimo, and then a cupcake party upstairs in her conference room with her staff), Orlando City Hall, Orlando Police Department, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Metro Orlando, and The Center Orlando.

Jen’s JOYride was broadcast on Twitter, Facebook Live, Snapchat, Instagram and Periscope, and most importantly, Jen was thrilled to be able to help make people smile using cupcakes with smiles on them!

I rode along on this event, and it was amazing to see the spirit of community and all of the waves we received!
