Atlanta-based Arrow Exterminators awarded two students $1,000 scholarships through its second annual internal scholarship program.
The internal scholarship program was open to active Arrow team members and their dependents. To apply, entrants wrote essays answering the following question: “What is the one thing that has surprised you most about the pest control industry?” The two winners were selected based on creativity and originality of the essays, the company says in a news release.
Winners of the internal program include:
- Emily Sweat, daughter of Greg Sweat, the company’s senior vice President of operations, who will attend Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., this fall. Sweat plans to attain her bachelor’s degree in exercise science and eventually attend graduate school with a focus on physical therapy. She also will be a member of the university’s softball team.
- Autumn Gabe, daughter of Eric Gabe, vice president of operations at Arrow Exterminators, who will study psychology at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga. She is interested in pursuing a career in sports psychology and eventually hopes to obtain her master’s degree, the company says.
Arrow Exterminators says the scholarship programs were created to encourage personal and professional growth within eligible college students and Arrow team members. The money awarded is specifically designed to assist students with higher education expenses and facilitate a path to pursuing a career.
