Dr. Gary Bennett, a Pest Management Professional Hall of Famer (Class of 2006) and coordinator of Purdue University’s Urban and Industrial Pest Management Center, was recently awarded the 2016 Celebration of Excellence Award for Mature Program – noncredit from the University Professional and Continuing Education Association (UPCEA) Central Region awards program.

The West Lafayette, Ind.-based university’s Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs consists of nine courses developed under the tutelage of Dr. Bennett.  These courses have been the “training of choice” for thousands of pest management professionals. National pest management companies have adopted a number of the courses as standard training for their employees, and nearly every state in the country has approved one or more of the courses for certification and/or recertification.

Dr. Bennett was nominated by Robin Cunningham, associate director of Degree and Professional Programs at Purdue University.
