Big Blue Bug Solutions to light up termite mascot for holidays

Big Blue Bug Solutions will celebrate the 24th annual lighting of its termite mascot, Nibbles, on Nov. 21 in Providence, R.I.

In lieu of the holiday season, the pest management company strings lights on its “big blue bug” mascot that sits on the roof of its Providence location, disguising it as a reindeer.

Nearly 7,500 holiday lights will illuminate the iconic termite mascot, according to WPRI Eyewitness News.

This year, the company is commemorating the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Two World War II veterans from North Providence will flip on the switch: Thomas Anthony Cardarelli, 96, and Placido Femino, 92.

If it rains, the lighting ceremony will be delayed to the night of Nov. 22, the TV station says.
