A home remodeler from Rougemont, N.C., invented the patent-pending Bandit Barrier, a “pest exclusion device” installed onto gable vents.
In the attic of a home, gable vents allow hot air to escape, which becomes an entry point for pests. These pests, such as birds and bats, also may build nests.
As a remodeler, the unnamed inventor was inspired to create a device that prevented pests from entering the gable vent, and ultimately the home.
“I saw a need for a means for preventing pests from entering gable vents, which would ultimately make my job easier,” the inventor says in a news release from InventHelp.
Bandit Barrier installations are much like traditional hardware cloths, which are used for the same function. The inventor says the product does not compromise the appearance of a home.
