Bush Pest celebrates 50 years

By |  May 10, 2017

Bush phoneIn April 1967, Leonard and Virginia Bush started Bush Pest Control, with a little help in the field with Leonard’s father, Richard. Today, the Bushes’ son Darrell, his wife Pam and their daughter, Office Manager Brandy  Bush-Hosto continue the family tradition as Bush Termite and Pest Control in Edwardsville, Ill., with eight employees. Pictured is the original phone with its number, but Darrell Bush notes today the company has 10 phone lines for both Illinois and Missouri.

“To celebrate our 50th year, we are gearing up to do drawings for free pest control services,” he says, noting commemorative pens, magnets and similar giveaways are also in the works. “The amazing part is, we have a current customer who used us 50 years age. It’s always interesting to hear when I answer the phone and someone says, ‘I used to use Bush many, many years ago,’ and they are talking about my grandparents. We continue to build on their success today.”
