Atlanta-based Arrow Exterminators devised a way to honor and recognize employees who have served, or currently are serving, in the U.S. military.
The company presents workers who are veterans or active duty with a special lapel pin to wear as part of their uniform. The Veteran pin features two American flags, the Arrow Exterminators logo, and the words “United States Veteran” engraved on the front.
“We presented our team members with these Veteran pins the week before the Fourth of July holiday since this is a day to give thanks, to pay tribute, and to remember those who gave their lives to protect our country and gain our independence,” said Arrow Exterminators CEO and President Emily Thomas Kendrick. “In reality, we should be thankful every single day of the year. We thank these folks for their service from the bottom of our hearts.”
Kendrick came up with the idea after attending an industry event where an Orkin Inc. employee was wearing a similar pin to the ones given to Arrow team members. Because she loved the idea and the recognition the pin provides, she reached out to Orkin President John Wilson to ask if Arrow could replicate them for its team members.
The pin is a way for Arrow Exterminators to express its gratitude and appreciation to team members who have served, or are currently serving, in the U.S. military. Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten, the company said.
Arrow Exterminators has been family owned and operated since 1964. It has revenues exceeding $186 million, 1,920 team members, a fleet of more than 1,600 vehicles, and 103 service centers. The company serves customers in Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
