Pest management professional (PMP) Jonathan Childers and his family moved into a new home in Proctorville, Ohio, on Sept. 28, thanks to Habitat for Humanity.

This marks the 100th home donated by the Huntington Area Habitat for Humanity, according to The Herald-Dispatch.

“This has been a five-year struggle, and there’s been some crossblocks we’ve had to overcome, but we’ve had our faith in the Lord and He finally blessed us with it,” Childers tells the local news outlet. “Here, we can paint the walls whatever we want. This is our home.

“When you’re renting, it’s just a house. But this is our home.”

David Michael, executive director and CEO for the Huntington Area Habitat for Humanity, says each home is energy efficient, and “residents are offered a zero-percent mortgage on their Habitat homes, as well as an escrowed fee combining utilities, insurance and property taxes.”
