Tampa, Fla.-based Arrow Environmental Services, a subsidiary of Environmental Pest Service (EPS), is celebrating 60 years of service in 2018. The company, whose history actually dates back to the 1800s, has experienced steady growth since moving operations to Florida in 1958, with annual revenues reaching $18 million in 2017.
Arrow has more than 30,000 customers and 150 employees – several of whom have been with the company for 30 years – in Tampa Bay, southwest and central Florida.
“It’s been a great joy watching the company grow over the last 60 years,” says George Pickhardt, EPS chairman of the board. “We’re proud to serve residents throughout the state, and look forward to another 60 years of service.”
In the late 1800s, Pickhardt’s grandfather founded International Fumigators – one of the nation’s first pest control services – in Buffalo, N.Y. The company fumigated lake freighters that moved iron ore up and down the Great Lakes.
Pickhardt’s father and uncle later joined the company. His uncle ran the business in Buffalo, while his father branched off and started Arrow Exterminating in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1930. In 1958, he moved the business to Florida and renamed it Arrow Environmental Services.
“We’re proud of our roots in the pest control industry, and are pleased to offer customers the same great service that our company was founded on so many years ago,” says Pickhardt. “I know I speak for everyone involved when I say that we are thrilled to celebrate this exciting milestone.”
