It would seem that Santa was very good to several pest management professionals (PMPs) last month, in that there were quite a few companies looking to sell that matched up with companies looking to buy. Among the bigger pest management firm deals taking place recently was Memphis, Tenn.-based Terminix Commercial purchasing New York City-based Assured Environments.

Atlanta, Ga.-based Arrow Exterminators expanded its Houston, Texas, presence by acquiring Semarck Pest Control. In South Carolina, Aiken-based Smith & Sons Pest Control merged with Columbia-based Modern Exterminating, taking on the Modern name. Rentokil Steritech, based in Reading, Pa., meanwhile, acquired Vermont Pest Control, based in Middletown Springs, Vt. And on the international franchising front, Richmond, Va.-based Mosquito Squad has new owners in Authority Brands, based in Columbia, Md.
