The Washington State Pest Management Association (WSPMA) announced Samantha Malone as its new executive director.

Malone is the current education chair at WSPMA and owner of Olympia Pest Management.

“In many ways, Samantha has been the face of Washington State Pest Management Association for several years in her role as communications coordinator, and now having her as our executive director we look forward to working with her to continue the development of our association’s commitment to professionalism in our industry both locally and nationally,” said WSPMA  Vice President Luke Rambo, ACE, who is also president of Rambo Total Pest Solutions.

Malone was born into the pest management industry, with both her father and aunt owning their own companies. Malone opened Olympia Pest Management with her husband, Miles Malone, in 2017.

Her father, Tim Baker, has served as the executive director of WSPMA since 2006.

“I cannot be more pleased with the relationships that have come about during my time here,” Baker said. “The people and places have moved into a realm that I would never had thought possible as a salesman for Terminix in 1984. The association is very capable hands, and I will be available for counsel and guidance as needed.”

According to Malone, her priorities in her new role are to engage with membership, strengthen the foundation and lead through action.

“Samantha has a huge heart for the industry and an incredible ability to foster communication and unity,” said Billy Olesen, ACE, board president of WSPMA. “Her drive and determination made this an easy choice for all of us. The board is looking forward and is committed to WSPMA’s success and future with Samantha at the helm.”
