The original PestVets is a group within the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), committed to engaging military veterans in their successful transition to a productive and rewarding career in the pest management industry.

New England PestVets is dedicated to ensuring pest management is an industry of choice for veterans throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Through outreach, advocacy and support of veterans’ groups and charities, the group strives to encourage veterans to pursue rewarding careers in our industry while promoting the tremendous benefits of hiring veterans to our members.

The chair is Tom Drapeau, ACE, of Freedom Pest Control. The vice chair is Kelley Altland, of Bell Laboratories. Committee members include Courtney Carace, ACE, of Pest-End, and Tim Francis, of Food and the Drug and the Bug.

New England PestVets’ first event will take place March 2 at the NEPMA Spring Training and Trade Show. The committee will have a table to promote the new unit to NEPMA membership.

Registration for the NEPMA Spring Training and Trade Show is now available. The event will be at Clarion Hotel & Conference Center in Taunton, Mass. Earn six credits for Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont, see the latest tools and technology available from our vendors, and network with other pest management professionals. The entire program has been approved for both MA 41 and 43.
