Target Specialty Products will host its next free Business Growth webinar titled “Termites Behaving Badly! Eliminating Subterranean Termites with Baiting Technology” on May 11 at 1:30 p.m. Eastern.

Dr. Bob Davis, BCE, technical services representative at BASF, will be the speaker of the webinar.

Dr. Davis will address the biology and behavior of subterranean termites and efficacious ways of using bait systems for structural protection and termite control as well as the economic importance, termite biology, identification, and the characteristics of social insects, termite behavior, feeding, digestion, reproduction and swarming, the mode of action of termite bait active ingredients and  impacts on individual termites and termite colonies, studies showing protection of structures with bait systems, colony elimination in area wide studies and from infested trees, proper bait system installation per label and site characteristics, creation of site diagram, tools used for system install, and process of installation, conducive condition importance and use of products labeled for directed spot treatments at areas of structural activity, inspection interval discussion, procedures and tools used for system and structure inspection and service, label details and best practices for bait cartridge replacements, property owners, and best business practices for baiting.

Dr. Davis has a varied employment background. Positions have included: fisheries biologist, pest control operator, pest management professional, extension research specialist, graduate research assistant, technical director and technical field representative. He is currently a technical services representative for BASF Professional and Specialty Solutions. Dr. Davis received his educational degree from the University of Nebraska (UNL). At UNL, he received a bachelor of science degree in natural resources and his master of science and Ph.D. in entomology from UNL. He is a board certified entomologist and is active in the Entomological Society of America.
