The National Wildlife Control Operators Association (NWCOA) is working with the family of Alan A. Huot to create a memorial scholarship fund.

Alan Huot is the late founder and president of Wildlife Control Supplies.

The Alan A. Huot Memorial Scholarship will be available to NWCOA members and their families.

The scholarship program will continue Huot’s contribution to the wildlife control industry and celebrate his enthusiasm for knowledge, his dedication to sharing information and his excitement for seeing our industry grow and mature.

Scholarships will be awarded annually. The 2023 scholarships will be a minimum of two $2,000 awards for higher education and two registrations for the Wildlife Expo.

For the high education scholarship eligibility, the applicant must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program (sophomore, junior or senior year) and have completed at least two semesters of study with at least one year remaining before graduation. The applicant must be a full-time student in good academic standing (3.0 GPA or better on 4.0 scale). The applicant’s parent, guardian or spouse must be working in the wildlife control industry, and the sponsor company where they work, must be a member in good standing with NWCOA for a minimum of three years.

For NWCOA Wildlife Expo scholarship eligibility, the applicant must currently be the owner of a wildlife control company or be a full-time employee of a wildlife control company (sponsor company) for a minimum of one year. The sponsor company must be a NWCOA member company, who has been in good standing within NWCOA for a minimum of two years. Only one scholarship will be awarded per member company each year.

The deadline to apply for both scholarships is Sept. 30, 2023. To apply and for more information, check out the application form.
