Moyer Services, based in Souderton, Pa., recently acquired Safeway Pest Control, a Pennsylvania corporation and a client of Cetane Associates.
The transaction was completed on Dec. 13.
In 1996, John Wechter founded Safeway Pest Control with a drive to provide exceptional service to the Delaware Valley area. Over the past three decades, Safeway Pest Control has grown from its traditional pest control and rodent work to develop large commercial customers and to take on service work for other pest control companies.
Wechter said in the news release, “From the beginning, we’ve focused our business on unsurpassed, excellent and safe service for our residential and commercial customers. This transaction with Moyer ensures that our mission will continue to be met.”
Moyer Services was founded in 1869 as Moyer & Son. What began as a small feed mill in Souderton, Pa., has grown into a widely diversified residential and commercial services company serving customers throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania and parts of New Jersey and Delaware. In addition to pest control, Moyer Services’ nine service divisions include heating and air conditioning, plumbing, water quality, heating fuels, propane, lawn care, tree and shrub care, and pool and spa care.
Cetane served as the sole arranger to Safeway Pest Control. Cetane advised on the sale, including an initial valuation opinion, marketing the business through a confidential process, assisting in negotiating the final deal terms, and coordinating the due diligence process. Team members Bob Williamson — an online columnist for Pest Management Professional’s blog, PMPPestTalk.net — Barrett Conway, Trey Brasseaux and Dalton Brooks managed the transaction.
