NPMA opens award nominations, announces Legislative Day speakers

Nominations are now open for the National Pest Management Association’s (NPMA’s) 2024 Impact Awards for Women in Pest Management.

The awards, sponsored by FieldRoutes, honor and celebrate exceptional women at all levels within the pest management industry, in any role, including management, technical/service, sales or office staff.

Women working in any function at a pest control company or industry supplier are eligible for consideration. This includes technical/service, sales, management, or office staff and nominations are open to individuals from both NPMA member companies, as well as nonmembers. NPMA encourages nominations from anyone who has a professional relationship with a potential nominee, as well as nominations of individuals who have received state, local, or other industry-specific recognition. Each nomination is considered based on the merits of information included in the submissions.

Recipients will be announced on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2024, and honored at NPMA’s Women’s Forum on May 7-9, 2024, in Atlanta, Ga.

The deadline for nominations is Feb. 23, 2024.

NPMA announces keynote speakers for 2024 Legislative Day

NPMA announced the keynote speakers headlining the 2024 Legislative Day program, taking place March 10 – 12, 2024 in Washington, D.C.

In addition to this lineup of keynote speakers, the Legislative Day program features panel presentations and sessions covering the latest policy issues, industry data, and challenges facing the pest management industry, along with the opportunity for attendees to meet with Congressional leaders and staffers from their state during visits to the Hill.

This year, attendees are encouraged to come out a day early on March 9 to Washington, D.C. for the NPMA Board of Directors meeting, followed by an Open House at NPMA’s Headquarters in Fairfax, Va.

On March 11, two political analysts in America will provide insights into the dynamic and constantly evolving landscape of U.S. politics. Mo Elleithee is a leading voice in the effort to tackle political polarization and promoting more productive political dialogue. Prior to assuming the role of founding executive director at the Institute of Politics and Public Service, Elleithee was the communications director for the Democratic National Committee during the Obama Administration.

Chris Stirewalt is a political commentator who is highly regarded for his candid and straightforward analysis of the current political climate as the political editor for NewsNation, America’s fastest-growing cable news channel.

Monday’s afternoon program also features Dr. Lindsay Chervinsky, a presidential historian with expertise on presidential administrations, the cabinet and U.S. government institutions. She is a columnist for Washington Monthly and Governing, and regularly provides historical context to journalists on current events at publications including The Washington Post, The New York Times and Fast Company, and the Associated Press. A familiar face on TV, Dr. Chervinsky has appeared on PBS’s “The Open Mind,” Fox News Nashville, Cheddar TV, CNN, and the History Channel, among other networks. Her upcoming book, An Honest Man: The Inimitable Presidency of John Adams, is set to be published by Oxford University Press in 2024.

Named one of the “40 Best Conservative Columnists” by RightWingNews each year since 2013, he has been acknowledged as the 2012 “CPAC Blogger of the Year” by The American Conservative Union and one of the 50 “Pundits You Need to Pay Attention to Between Now and The Election” in 2011 by Business Insider.
