Sprague Pest Solutions celebrates award, acquisition and ACE certification

Tacoma, Wash.-based Sprague Pest Solutions received the 2023 Inland Empire (of California) Top Workplaces award, recently announced in the Inland New Group Publication, adds to Sprague’s growing list of workplace excellence acknowledgments..

This marks the second regional Top Workplaces award for Sprague Pest Solutions in 2023. The company’s commitment to fostering an exceptional workplace culture has now been acknowledged twice on the West Coast, its earlier recognition as a Top Workplace by The Oregonian in 2023 and in the latest Inland Empire region of California.

“We are thrilled to receive the Inland Empire Top Workplaces award, this achievement is a testament to the strength and unity of our teams across different regions,” Leila Starwich, director of people operations at Sprague Pest Solutions, said in the news release. “At Sprague, we believe in creating a workplace where our team members can thrive, and this award reaffirms our commitment to maintaining a positive and inclusive environment.”

The Top Workplaces awards are determined based on confidential feedback from employees, measuring companies against 15 cultural drivers. Only 33 companies were selected.

In other Sprague news, it recently acquired Home and Office Pest Control, further expanding the company’s footprint in Montana.

The acquisition provides Sprague Pest Solutions with increased capacity to service agriculture, food, distribution and government clients in Montana. With the acquisition, Sprague Pest Solutions gains an expanded footprint, spanning 19 counties that make up nearly one-third of the state.

“Home and Office Pest Control and Sprague share a similar dedication to customer service, a forward-thinking approach to pest management. This is a significant acquisition that allows us to better serve our commercial clients in Montana — providing them with comprehensive and customized pest control solutions. We are confident that the combined strengths of our two companies will lead to an even greater level of service excellence,” Ross Treleven, president of Sprague Pest Solutions, said in the news release.

This acquisition is the first for Sprague in 2024. Since 1975, the company has acquired nearly 30 pest control companies throughout the Western United States.

Last but not least, Sprague Pest Solutions’ Chant Martin, a route manager for the Seattle, Wash., branch, recently earned an associate certified entomologist (ACE) Certification.

Chant underwent rigorous training and demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of entomology, pest identification, and integrated pest management practices. This certification, awarded by the Entomological Society of America (ESA), not only recognizes Chant’s dedication to continuous learning and professional development, but also enhances Sprague’s reputation as a trusted leader in the pest control industry.

Originally from Georgia, Chant moved to Washington to begin their journey at Sprague in 2022 after learning about Sprague’s superior customer service from a colleague. They are Sprague’s 35th team member to hold an ACE certification. Sprague’s Puget Sound region is the most certified region, holding over 50 percent of the certifications in the company.
