The Northwest Exterminating team, in collaboration with other local volunteers, packed 65,880 meals in just two hours for Feed My Starving Children (FMSC).

This effort took place at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds in Lawrenceville, Ga., where approximately 250 volunteers worked together to pack as many meals for local families as possible.

Within the two hours of working together, the team of volunteers filled 305 boxes which contained 36 nutritious meals each, resulting in 10,980 meals in total. The meal bags directly benefit 180 children in the local area. Each child will receive a nourishing, hand-packed meal every day for the entire year.

“When we come together as a community, we can achieve extraordinary things. These meals represent hope, compassion, and the power of collective action,” Stephen Phillips, co-president of Northwest Exterminating, said in the news release. “The Northwest team is thankful to have the opportunity to meet the needs of our communities and to provide more than just pest control. Our team plans to continue this yearly partnership with the Feed My Starving Children team.”

Northwest Exterminating’s service center in Macon, Ga., recently participated in its local Habitat for Humanity’s Women’s Build, with an end goal of completing two homes within a month.

The initiative was organized by Katie Hall, the Macon office manager and Good Deed team ambassador.

Twelve teammates from Northwest, along with nearly 200 other volunteers, spent a day working side by side at a local house in Macon. From cutting and nailing trim to hanging doors and painting, volunteers showcased their skills and poured their hearts into improving the lives of others.

Kristen Milligan, co-director of the Good Deed Team, said in the news release, “We are incredibly thankful for this opportunity to contribute to our local community! It’s so fulfilling to see the impact we can make when we come together for such a noble cause.”
