PCOC reveals keynote, panel participants for June conference

The Sacramento, Calif.-based Pest Control Operators of California (PCOC) has announced its keynote speaker and two panelists for Best Pest 2024, taking place June 19-21 in Lake Tahoe, Nev. The event is focusing on the critical topics of sales, marketing and human resources in the pest management industry.

Steve Good, a strategic sales and marketing executive with extensive experience in leading sales teams and growing market share, will deliver the keynote address. With a background in sales leadership, business development and brand positioning, Good is well-equipped to provide valuable insights into the future of pest management service firms, manufacturers and distributors. Good’s presentation will offer attendees a brief look at the present category climate and provide focused perspectives on what the short- and mid-term future holds for pest management professionals (PMPs).

In addition, the event’s human resources (HR) panel participants have been announced: Nancy Troyano, director of operations education and training, Rentokil Terminix, and Tammy Compton, owner of California HR Connection. The duo will delve into best practices for hiring, training and retaining talent in the pest control industry, offering actionable strategies for success. About PCOC

Tracing its origins to 1932, membership in the Pest Control Operators of California now numbers more than 1,100, which is considered to be the strongest association membership in the western United States. In fact, PCOC members account for about 80 percent of the state’s total volume of pest control business. Membership benefits include insurance, continuing education, a credit union, and legislative and regulatory representation. The association is also broadly involved in educational and training programs at both the consumer and trade levels.
