Bell Laboratories’ DETEX Soft Bait has been updated with Bell’s improved oil-based formulation and is now available in resealable 4-pound bags. The monitoring bait’s new palatable formulation mimics Bell’s other soft baits for improved acceptance when switching from a nontoxic monitor to a rodenticide.
DETEX Soft Bait incorporates Lumitrack, a special additive that causes rodent droppings to brightly glow under ultraviolet (UV) or black light. This tool helps pest management professionals identify droppings in dark or congested areas where they would normally go unnoticed. Rodent droppings help identify species type and track rodent activity, such as entry points, pathways and harborage areas.
DETEX Soft Bait has been specially developed to achieve sustained palatability, making it ideal for long-term applications, and it’s been designed to withstand almost any climate. It won’t freeze, melt or mold, the company says.
Monitoring rodent populations with DETEX Soft Bait pairs well with Bell’s rodent sensing solution: iQ products powered by Bell Sensing Technologies. iQ products contain fully integrated Bluetooth sensors that record exactly when rodents enter bait stations. Technicians can use DETEX Soft Bait in tandem with iQ products to prove rodent activity before applying rodenticide.
