Family, culture and growth: A PMP growth leader profile

By

October 22, 2025

The road to ownership of Redd Pest Solutions for Eddie Brewer Jr. and his wife, Bevin Redd Brewer, has been shaped by diverse career experiences. While Bevin worked in her family’s Gulfport, Miss., business through high school and college, she stepped away for a decade to pursue a successful career in cosmetology. Eddie, meanwhile, was a programmer at Hancock Whitney Bank for several years but joined his father-in-law, Gordon Redd Jr., in business in 2000. Bevin returned to Redd Pest Solutions in 2011 as marketing manager.

In 2024, Eddie and Bevin purchased the company from Gordon Jr., who is currently enjoying retirement. Today, the family legacy continues with their son, Tripp Brewer, ACE, who serves as Redd Pest Solutions’ director of information technology and quality assurance.

The company takes pride in growing organically vs. acquiring companies. Eddie points to a significant turning point in its growth in 2020, right at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. He connected with colleagues online who were praising the book Traction: Get a Grip on Your Business by Gino Wickman, which introduces the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).

GROWTH LEADER SNAPSHOT: Redd Pest Solutions

COMPANY NAME: Redd Pest Solutions
HEADQUARTERS: Gulfport, Miss.
2024 REVENUE: $8 million (sixth consecutive year of double-digit growth)
PROJECTED 2025 REVENUE: $10 million plus PROJECTED INCREASE: 25 percent plus

EDDIE BREWER JR.’S BUSINESS TIPS:

  1. Listen to customers. “Every review, positive or negative, is an opportunity. By addressing concerns directly, Redd often has turned frustrated customers into loyal, long-term ones.”
  2. Put the right people in the right roles. “A great employee may not always thrive if they’re in the wrong role. We focus on identifying individual strengths and placing team members in positions where they can excel and grow.”
  3. Invest in training. “With seven ACEs, one BCE and a dedicated technical trainer on staff, along with a yearlong leadership development program, Redd continues to strengthen its workforce for the future.”

Putting People First

Eddie attributes Redd Pest Solutions’ longevity to a people-first cultural approach. “Our team wants to come to work and enjoy what they’re doing,” he says. “During our interview process, we look for individuals who want a long-term career in pest control, not just a short-term job. We’re intentional about not hiring out of necessity but instead finding the right fit for our team.”

The company’s commitment to its people extends to its training infrastructure. The Mississippi State University (MSU) Extension Service, for example, owns the Redd Pest Solutions Termite Technician Training Facility. Redd Pest Solutions’ training team often visits other family-owned businesses in Mississippi and Louisiana to conduct training. This effort, Eddie notes, helps elevate the entire industry in those states.

“As an owner, I make it a priority not to micromanage but to empower our team to run the business as if it were their own,” Eddie says. “This is possible because I’m surrounded by a smart, dedicated group of people who take ownership of their roles and strive for excellence daily.”

Staying Cutting-Edge

Redd’s people-first culture makes it a magnet for top talent. Chris Mosley, ACE, a 24-year industry veteran, joined the company in September 2023 and is now director of business development. As if that didn’t keep him busy enough, Mosley and Kolby Krohn, ACE, the company’s director of operations and general manager, also co-host “The Redd Man Podcast.”

This focus on value drives Redd Pest Solutions’ training efforts. “Training our people and providing a lot of value with service translates to higher numbers of revenue growth,” Mosely adds. Krohn, who joined the company in 2022, agrees. “We try to be the leaders, not the followers,” he states. “We’re always looking at the newest things to improve our credibility with our customers and peers, to set higher standards in what we do.”

The future of Redd Pest Solutions, Eddie says, is rooted in purposeful growth. “We’re expanding our services and adding new brick-and-mortar locations, with a special focus on reaching rural communities that are often underserved,” he explains. “Our mission is to ensure families and businesses in these areas enjoy the same trusted pest protection our customers have relied on for four generations.”
