The Illinois Pest Control Association (IPCA) recently hosted its 2026 Spring Conference at the Embassy Suites Chicago O’Hare in Rosemont, welcoming approximately 85 attendees from across the region for two days of education, networking and industry engagement.
Educational opportunities
The conference featured eight expert speakers delivering timely and practical education across a range of pest management topics. The program opened with a presentation by Pat Hottel on pest prevention in food facilities and included sessions such as termite management (Philip Patrie, Reliable Exterminators), drain fly control (Howard Franklin, Pest West), mosquito management (Stan Cope, Rose Pest Solutions), rodent control strategies (Sara Knilans, Bell Labs) and equipment insights from Chris Jamison of Oldham Chemical.
Jeff McGovern, Pest Coach, presented two sessions on cockroach control strategies and advanced pesticide safety practices. The conference concluded with an interactive presentation by Tim Husen of Syngenta focused on ants and spring invaders, encouraging attendee participation and discussion.

Attendees also had the opportunity to earn continuing education credits approved in multiple states, reinforcing the event’s value as a key professional development opportunity. In addition, IPCA hosted an Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) exam prep course and facilitated on-site licensing exams, supporting individuals entering the pest management profession.
A strong exhibitor presence included 18 industry partners, resulting in a sold-out exhibit space showcasing the latest products, services, and innovations in pest management. Exhibitors and attendees alike benefited from valuable face-to-face connections and industry collaboration.
Charitable fundraising
As part of the event, IPCA hosted a raffle fundraiser benefiting HEROES CARE, raising approximately $500 to support the organization’s mission of assisting veterans in the state of Illinois. Raffle prizes were generously donated by participating sponsors and exhibitors.
Association board update
The association also welcomed two new members to its Board of Directors: Curtis Rand, Rose Pest Solutions, and David Vojta, Spring Green, both of whom bring valuable industry experience and leadership to the organization.
