The total U.S. William Blair/PCO M&A Specialists Pest Index increased 11 percent year-over-year in March 2025. The March result is slightly above the long-term average index growth rate of 10 percent. The index did increase 12 percent from February, which is in line with normal seasonal trends.
“The residential pest and commercial pest indices were similar to January and February,” said William Blair Equity Researcher Tim Mulrooney. “However, the mosquito index jumped considerably in March 2025, on an easy comparison with last year.”
Dan Gordon, CPA, managing member of PCO Bookkeepers & M&A Specialists and Pest Management Professional’s financial columnist, added, “This month’s results once again met expectations, showing the pest control industry’s consistency. We’ll have our eye on next month’s results to see if pest control buyers responded to April’s tariff-related economic quake.”
The month’s results by segment include:
- Residential Pest Index increased 11 percent year-over-year.
- Commercial Pest Index increased 12 percent year-over-year.
- Termite Index increased 9 percent year-over-year.
