There are many species of flies. While most pest fly species only have a lifespan of 30 days or less, they are still a nuisance to any home. House flies primarily breed in fresh animal manure, but they also may breed in trash or garbage.

Fruit flies, usually brought in by bananas or other non-refrigerated produce, are attracted to more than just fruit. They can be found near vegetables — and even soda cans. Flies can also get in a structure through cracks in entryways and loose-fitting screens. All entry points to the account should be carefully examined. In addition, to reduce the chance of having a fly infestation, it’s best to have a trash bin with a closing lid. Advise your homeowner customers to always put a trash bag in the bin; bags conceal odor, thus attracting fewer flies.
