Persistent ant problems can be a dealbreaker for any customer. If you don’t have someone on the payroll who can identify ants and diagnose a solution, you should put a professional consultant on retainer. They can reduce time spent on callbacks, help with product selection, and improve customer retention. They serve as your professional and personal trainer.
Grab a copy of the NPMA Field Guide or similar identification/reference manual, and keep it in your truck. If you know of a few ant species that frequently give your customers trouble, read up on species-specific bulletins available online from the various extension offices and university programs. Remember, the most educated pest professionals are those who spend time studying.
