Tips & Tricks: Proper Identification is Key to Ant Control

By

December 4, 2014

All aspects of an integrated pest management (IPM) program for ants are important, but without proper identification, you won’t know the best control measures to use. These measures include knowing possible ant colony locations, the best bait formulations to use and what overall control program can be used for maximum control.

Proper identification provides many necessary answers for a control program. Does this ant generally nest outdoors, or can it establish nests indoors? What type of habitat does this ant prefer? Food preference? Attracted to bait? Control product applications that work best?

Take the time to identify and understand the ant species in your area to develop a more effective control program.
