Tips & Tricks: Cockroach Control Program Depends on Species

By

January 16, 2015

All cockroach species act differently. They have different preferences regarding habits, harborage and food, so species identification is critical. Most roaches are nocturnal, spending most of their time in cracks, crevices and harborages. Some species infest kitchens, bedrooms, attics, basements and boiler rooms and might enter the structure from outside. Inspection, species identification and harborage/entry locations are important factors to consider, then determine a control program. Components should include sanitation, sealing entry and harborage locations, as well as using control agents such as baits, liquids and dusts.
