There’s no doubt that butterflies are beautiful. But beetles, wasps and flies? Artist Christopher Marley finds the beauty in bugs, grouping colorful insects (and other creatures) to create a kaleidoscope effect or showcasing one magnificent specimen worthy of the attention. His insect artwork is the subject of a new book that includes photos of his gorgeous designs as well as the scientific and more common names of his subjects and essays about collecting insects and its effect on the environment. Geographical magazine includes a book review on its website that states, “His pictures provoke meaningful thought about the purpose and goals of the artistic process.” Marley’s unique and colorful creations are not to be missed; you can see them here.
Very interesting and delightful!! This should spark some interest in the younger generation to get interested in entomology, or make them more aware of these critters around us. I want to buy them all!!!!
