Blowing up your car is one way to get rid of the bed bugs that are living in it. Pittsburgh’s WPXI-TV reports a Long Island man who discovered bed bugs in his rental car thought alcohol would kill the pests. Taking matters into his own hands, he drove to the supermarket, bought a bottle of booze, and poured the alcohol on the backseat of the car. While sitting in the vehicle, he lit a cigarette, which ignited the alcohol fumes. The ensuing explosion not only wrecked his rental car and two other vehicles in the store parking lot, it also caused first- and second-degree burns on the man’s body. Perhaps the best way to handle bed bugs in a rental car is to turn it in so the pros can handle the problem.
