Canada’s The Weather Network reports that Midges are on the scene yet again. The small flies that travel in large groups and somehow find their way into your nose and mouth arrive just as temperatures warm up each spring and make a return appearance in the fall. Anyone who lives near water has no doubt picked them off their clothing or wiped their residue off their car windshields. They hatch in water and last only a few weeks, swarming by the thousands. If you haven’t experienced them yourself, you probably saw them when they suddenly appeared during an October 5, 2007, American League playoff game held in Cleveland, Ohio. The midges helped the Cleveland Indians beat the New York Yankees, so they aren’t all bad, are they?
