Girls Blow Cicada into Each Other’s Mouths on Japanese Television

In the days before YouTube, we could not have experienced Japan’s amazing television programming unless we lived there. Fortunately, we can now see the outrageous games shows and bizarre variety programs that are a staple of Japanese television. A recent episode of AKBingo!, which appears to be a hybrid of the two that showcases popular girl group AKB48, features a crazy stunt involving a fried cicada. Two lucky girls are chosen for this challenge, the object of which is to blow the giant insect into each other’s mouths using a clear tube. Amid shrieks from the audience, it doesn’t take long for a winner to emerge. Check out the clip on Digg, which erroneously calls the insect a cockroach (because it’s creepier, perhaps).
