One of the summer’s biggest movies stars one of the world’s smallest superheroes. “Ant-Man,” which opens on Friday, features the Marvel Comics costumed character who can shrink to miniscule size.
The character debuted way back in 1962 and eventually became a member of Marvel’s all-star Avengers team. The new movie, which takes place not long after the events of the recent “Avengers: Age of Ultron” blockbuster, marks his first big-screen appearance.
Paul Rudd plays reformed thief Scott Lang, who must help his old friend (who developed the technology that lets the user increase his strength as he becomes smaller) in a heist that will save the world.
As you can see in the trailer below, the movie mixes action with comedy, as well as some great special effects. You’ll have to watch the entire movie to see if the ant scenes are accurate. To brush up on your ant knowledge, check out a few facts here.
Marvel Studios, the company behind the movie, are hoping audiences dig “Ant-Man.” The character is set to make an appearance in “Captain America: Civil War” next year and most likely the next Avengers movie after that.
