Bugs have invaded the Burning Man. The week-long festival is held the last Monday in August in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert and attracts more than 70,000. Because participants camp in the middle of the dessert, they must be prepared for anything Mother Nature throws their way. In the past, high winds, lightening and falling temperatures have been a challenge. Looks like this year, it’s bugs. But these aren’t just any bugs. They appear to be Pentatomidae, a member of the stink bug family, and Nysius, which “look for water everywhere, including in your skin,” according to a Business Insider report. Because participants are encouraged to bring or create their own shelters, they should shoot for something bug-resistant this time.
